CLOSE 52G – Connect generator to bus
52G is the generator breaker. It should only be closed when the engine is in 'Ready to Load' and frequency/voltage are within range. With auto-sync active, closing is automatic once sync conditions are met.
Confirm the turbine is in [Ready to Load] state — NGP ~90%, NP ~100%.
Verify generator voltage is within the range of the bus it will connect to.
Verify frequency is 60 Hz ± 0.5 Hz before attempting to close.
If auto-sync is enabled: confirm the synchronizer is active on the HMI.
If closing manually: wait for the synchroscope / sync lamp to indicate in-phase (phase match).
Press the 52G CLOSE button on the generator control panel / HMI.
Confirm 52G changes to CLOSED — red indicator ON, green OFF.
Monitor: verify load ramps up smoothly with no overcurrent trips.
Log the 52G close time and connection condition (island / parallel / grid).
