Manual crank test / purge

Step 1 – Pre-checks for manual crank

Manual crank is used to: (1) purge the exhaust before ignition, (2) perform on-crank water wash, and (3) verify the start system without lighting the engine. Make sure all crank permissives are satisfied before proceeding.

Confirm all CRANK permissives are active on the HMI (no shutdown alarms present).

Verify pre/post lube oil pump is running and header pressure is normal.

Confirm the gas fuel system is closed (FSV closed) for crank with no ignition.

Confirm the exhaust cover / rain hood has been removed.

Verify the area around the turbine is clear — no personnel near the exhaust.
