CLOSE – Connect GCB to bus
The GCB (Generator Circuit Breaker) closes when the turbine is in [Ready to Load]. In parallel/grid mode, auto-sync checks frequency, voltage and phase angle before closing.
Confirm [Ready to Load] in the TT4000 screen header.
Verify generator voltage is within the bus range (15 kV ± 5%).
Verify frequency: 60 Hz ± 0.3 Hz.
If automatic synchronizing is enabled: the system will wait for the sync window and close the GCB automatically.
If closing manually: wait for the synchroscope/indicator to confirm phase match.
On TT4000: press CLOSE GCB (or confirm the command in the TCP window).
Confirm the GCB is CLOSED — indicator on the HMI and switchgear shows closed.
Monitor: generator load (kW) ramps up smoothly. No overcurrent or reverse power trips.
Adjust load setpoint as needed (see 'Load Setpoint' procedure).
